Why I started Ember Care

Support that’s shaped by your life

I began Ember Care because I saw too many people feeling overlooked, treated like they were just part of a system instead of being understood as people. I wanted to create something different: a place where you can feel safe, listened to, and supported in ways that truly make a difference.

Our NDIS support services in South Eastern Melbourne are never one‑size‑fits‑all. We take the time to learn what feels right for you, what gives you a sense of safety, and what you want your life to look like. Then we work with you to build support that feels personal, practical, and truly your own.

Support Coordination

The NDIS can be complicated, but you don’t have to figure it out on your own. Our support coordination helps you make sense of your plan, connect with the right services, and make choices that reflect what’s important to you. It’s about making the system work for you, not the other way around.

Frequently Asked Questions

Starting support can bring up a lot of questions and that’s completely normal. Here are some simple answers to help you feel more confident about reaching out.

What kind of supports do you offer?

We offer a mix of practical and therapeutic support, depending on what’s most helpful for you. That includes help with daily tasks, transport, community activities, counselling, therapy options, and even support with things like job readiness or building relationships. We also work with families of young children through Early Childhood Early Intervention.

We support people who are plan-managed or self-managed under the NDIS. We also welcome private clients for counselling. Most of the people we work with live with psychosocial or developmental disabilities, but every story is unique. We always take time to listen and understand what’s right for you.

Not yet. At this stage, we work with participants who are either self-managed or plan-managed. We’re happy to chat about how that works if you’re unsure.

Both. Depending on your needs, we can support you with things like cooking, budgeting, or getting to appointments, or help connect you with therapy services like speech, psychology, or OT. We also provide counselling ourselves, through our social workers.

We support people from early childhood through to older adulthood, but we’re especially passionate about working with young people and their families. We currently support participants from age 4 to 70.

We work across the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. If you’re not sure whether we come to your area, just reach out and we’ll let you know.

Absolutely. My background includes training in ministry and theology, so if faith is important to you or your family, we can gently and respectfully include that in the way we support you. It’s always your choice.

Ember Care was born out of my deep passion to help others. After walking through my own challenges with grief and mental health, I knew I wanted to create something more human: a space where people feel safe, cared for, and never just a ‘case’. We’re a small team, but everything we do is built on heart, integrity, and connection.
